The Stroke aspect of the research group focuses on researching the whole care pathway from pre-hospital services – via emergency medicine, early rehabilitation, and prevention and treatment of complications – to secondary prevention and maintenance of functioning over time. In the area of Stroke, the research group has an international reputation for pioneering the development of stroke unit care, and researching the interaction between specialist and primary healthcare services when it comes to the follow-up of stroke patients.
