Tijdens haar studie won zij diverse prijzen, waaronder de Ronald F. Na haar studie werkte ze bij verschillende ontwerpbureaus zoals Doepel Strijkers en Architecten Van Mourik. Paul studeerde architectuur aan de HTS Rotterdam, TU Delft en UCD Dublin. Zijn werkervaring bestaat uit de TU Delft, BAR Architecten en ZUS [Zones Urbaines Sensibles] en de oprichting van Paul Scales. Paul was betrokken was bij het ontwerp van publieke gebouwen, stedelijke projecten en de ontwikkeling van het Schieblock Rotterdam.

Atelier ARI is a Rotterdam based design office, founded in the summer of 2014 by Paul van den Berg and Joyce de Grauw. From out of a 19th century school building ARI is designing and experimenting with a hands-on approach. Although trained as architects they operate in a wide range of spatial design, including public art installations, furniture design, interiors and architecture. The work of ARI is characterised by clearly organised design, always combined with a twist and with love for craftsmanship and aesthetics. Joyce graduated in 2007 Cum Laude at the Willem de Kooning Academy. During her studies she won several awards, including the Ronald F. After her studies she worked for several design offices, including Doepel Strijkers and Van Mourik Architects. Paul studied architecture at the HTS Rotterdam, TU Delft and UCD Dublin. His work experience includes TU Delft, BAR Architects, ZUS [Zones Urbaines Sensibles] and the startup of Paul Scales. Paul was involved in the design of public buildings, urban projects and the development of Het Schieblock Rotterdam.
