Once upon a time, deep within the heart of AUC, Amsterdam Student Film Festival (AmsFF) was born as a CUT initiative, bringing AUC students together to celebrate our upcoming filmmakers in the dorms.
Catching the eyes of major Dutch film collaborators and feeling the need for student films to be in cinema, AmsFF grew into a bigger independent organization lifting student cinema to new heights and giving fresh talents the stage they deserve. This year, we’re celebrating that legacy with an extra screening day on March 1st at FC Hyena!
So, moviegoers, join us in Amsterdam for an afternoon of the best student films of 2023/2024, meet the AUC/CUT alumni who helped shape the festival, and support the next generation of filmmakers.

‼️Our beloved film goers… We know all too well that the weather befalling on Amsterdam annually in December is not a great motivation to leave your cozy apartment. This time the stroll to your favorite cinema won’t have to take too long - CUT is bringing it to the dorms! In order to let the Winter spirit finally settle, your favorite movie committee is organizing an in-dorm screening of two movies - The Thing and After Live - this Friday (06.12) at 7:30. Both of them touch upon the topic of the approaching season in one way or another, although they are very different movies - the former exploring an alien life in Antarctica, and the latter compassionately engaging with notions of memory. You wouldn’t want to miss either - but if finals’ season is not your ally - feel free to stop by for only one of them too! Bring your mugs for some hot tea, get your bowl ready for some fresh popcorn, invite your friends over, and take a break from studying with us and our lovely selection.
