Guest speaker and African designer of the year 2016 Dauvia Nijenhuis was born in Angola and raised in The Netherlands since she was ten years of age. Nijenhuis is a self-taught fashion designer that integrates her African roots into her designs. Her designs reflect the two cultures that have become part of her. She combines African heritage with European influences.
