It's FRIDAY. It's a great day!

Today, I will be sharing with you : PREVENTING COLOUR BLEEDING,FADING AND CROCKING IN FABRICS

*Colour bleeding* occurs when the fabric gets wet, and dye leaches out of the fibres

*Colour fading* is when the fabric has lost much of its dye and therefore lacks vibrancy and depth.

*Crocking* is the colour transfer that occurs when fabric rubs against something, such as furniture, shoes or skin.

*Causes of bleeding, fading and crocking*
- Poor quality dye
- Bleaching products ,heat and sun
- Wear and tear
- Incorrect dying technique
- Incorrect dye used

PREVENTION
- Buy quality clothing made of colour fast fabric
- Wash clothes gently to minimize friction
- Don't over wash your clothes
- Be mindful washing agents used while washing
- Wash with cool or cold water. Don't dare use hot water.

Good morning to you all. Welcome to EBIfe LAUNDRY, I am here to educate you on how to care for your fabric ( clothes). Your clothes needs to be adequate taken care of to prolong its life span .
Most of us wonder why our clothes do not last for long after spending Fortune to buy them. Sometimes we blame it on the inferiority of the material and some other factors. But I am here to intimate you that how we handle our fabrics go a long way in elongating their life span. One of the ways you can achieve this is to:

IRON WITH CARE
When you iron, you’re using heat to loosen fabric fibers and press them flat. Unfortunately, there’s also a good chance you can end up burning or yellowing the fabric if you’re not doing it properly. Using too much heat on delicate fabrics can completely ruin them, so make sure you always use the right heat level for the type of fabric you’re ironing.

Many irons have different levels for various fabrics on the heat dial, but here’s a general guide:

Linen: 445° F
Cotton: 400° F
Viscose/Rayon: 375° F
Wool: 300° F
Acrylic: 275° F
Polyester: 300° F
Silk: 300° F
Acetate: 290° F
Lycra: 275° F
Nylon: 275° F

This principle of ironing with care is what we apply at EBIfe LAUNDRY.
Patronize us today ,and you will see the difference.
See you next week for more updates.
