I don’t really admire married women who become overly attached to their pastors. Respecting and appreciating your pastor is good, but when it starts looking like worship or blind loyalty, I think it has gone too far. Some people seem to value their pastor’s words above those of their own spouse or family, and I don’t believe that’s healthy. Sadly, we’ve seen cases where some people sacrifice their family’s needs just to please a pastor or obey every instruction without questioning it. That kind of devotion can be dangerous because our faith should be centered on God, not on any human being.

There have also been unfortunate situations where some pastors have taken advantage of that level of trust, leading to inappropriate relationships or other forms of abuse. But it’s important to remember that not every pastor is like that, and not every church encourages this kind of behavior.

A good pastor should always point people to God, not to himself. Respect your spiritual leader, but never place anyone above God or neglect your responsibilities to your family.
