BREAKING: Tinubu decorates Disu as acting IGP.

Bola Tinubu has formally decorated Tunji Disu as Acting Inspector-General of Police at the State House in Abuja, in a ceremony attended by senior government officials, including Nuhu Ribadu and Femi Gbajabiamila.

Disu’s appointment comes 48 days before his scheduled retirement on April 13, 2026. However, under the amended Police Act granting IGPs a fixed four-year tenure regardless of age, he could remain in office until 2030.

The event followed the resignation of the immediate past IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, who stepped down citing family reasons.
