ONE STOP SHOP

In Abuja, a kind woman who took us in to stay with her and her husband later found out I was not eating. She encouraged me to eat and even gave me small money when I needed it. I helped by cleaning, bathing the children, and taking them to school, but I never asked her for anything. For me, just having a roof over my head already felt like a huge gift.

After we won the under seventeen World Cup in Chile, I came back and looked for that couple. I gave them part of my tournament money as thanks. It was not about how big the amount was. It was about honour. When people help you at your lowest point, you must not forget them when God lifts you higher. Gratitude is part of my journey.
