On Sundays like this, Gold, you'd be so excited to go to church. You loved serving. You loved listening to the word.

The days you were given the stage to minister your songs, you hardly slept because you'd be praying, thinking of ways to make the most of it.

Sometimes, you'd share with me how you thought a particular way would land best. Other times you'd be quiet because you were in that inner space with our Father. I understood and was honoured to just be in your space.

One of the songs you wrote that I love deeply... the lyrics... YOU HAVE PLANTED YOUR RIGHTEOUS SEED INSIDE OF ME. YOU'RE ALL THAT I COULD EVER BE. MY DESTINATION IS YOU.

There was always a smile on your face when you sang those songs; like you had an idea, a secret about what you were singing and looked forward to meeting our Father.

You've gotten to your destination Gold.
I'm happy for you.
But I feel you left earlier than we had expected.

On the 7th of June, we'll sing some of those songs in honour of the gift you were to this generation.
New Covenant Church loved you and loved your sound and I'm honoured that they're partnering with me to do this for you within their walls.

I miss you my man.
Love, always.
Your woman.

I chose to think of you in loving memory because you were God's love to me in human form.

When I got called to be told about Gold being in an accident, I showed immense gratitude to the good Samaritan.

In my head, this was a sign that my husband was going to return to me hale and hearty.

Then I arrived Asaba.

He was in a coma on life support.

The neurosurgeon said Gold had multiple brain injuries and his advice was to take him off life support because nothing was medically possible. He however said that Gold's organs were all still functional but a miracle only could bring him back.

I told the doctor thank you for his opinion.
Then I called him a pessimist for saying we should not give him a chance.
I told him God was a miracle worker and would do one on my husband.
I told Him God had a track record of performing such miracles.

I felt that there was no other reason God made absolute strangers to go the extra mile for him, more than having to bring Gold back to me and the kids alive.

As I reminisce the fact that God still loves us irrespective of the hurt and pain of losing the only man I ever truly love and who loudly and genuinely loved us in return, I actually saw that God already did a miracle!

He made me see my husband before he flatlined and was finally declared dead.

I mean, how would I have stayed sane hearing that my husband was in an accident, had died and was thrown somewhere because no one knew him and could claim him.

Ah!

For this miracle of seeing my husband's handsome face for a few more days,
For the miracle of speaking to him as often as the ICU nurses would let me,
For the miracle of giving him kisses and rubbing his soft palms,
For the miracle of telling him I love him and seeing his finger twitch once in my palm as I held him before he died...
I say thank you Father,
I say thank you to El ROI who sees me.
