‎Veekee James is stirring up conversation again — and this time it's about not waiting on your husband’s money to provide for your home. At a LadiesTalk conference, she praised women who “work with their hands… feed their home… and don’t wait around for their husband’s money.”
‎
‎
‎Here’s the bone of contention many are discussing:
‎Some believe Veekee is saying that as a woman, you should take over your husband’s provider role. Others argue that the Proverbs 31 woman isn’t about replacing her spouse — she’s about having her own income and contributing, not sidelining him.
‎
‎ Looking at Proverbs 31 (verses 13, 16, 24), the woman described is industrious — she works, trades, buys land, and is wise with money.
‎
‎ That doesn’t mean she’s pushing her husband out; rather, she’s building with him.
‎
‎👍 On one side, Veekee’s message is empowering: women should not be financially trapped, nor should they be forced to wait passively.
‎👎 On the other, critics argue she risks glorifying a reality where women bear most or all household financial responsibilities — which could undermine mutual provision.
‎
‎My take: I think Veekee isn’t asking women to conquer roles but to co-create. Financial independence + shared responsibility doesn’t diminish manhood it enhances stability, dignity, and strength for both sides.
‎
‎What do you think? Should the modern Proverbs 31 woman be defined by:
‎
‎Service + support
‎
‎Financial provision + independence
‎
‎A blend of both
‎
‎Let’s talk. 💬
