That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

​The Apostle Peter wrote this to people who were going through intense suffering and persecution.
​The Meaning: He explains that while nobody likes going through "the fire", it is the only way to prove that faith is real. Just as gold is heated to melt away impurities, our challenges remove the "noise" and leave us with a faith that is pure and incredibly valuable.
​The goal of these trials isn't just to survive them, but to be found "unto praise and honour" when everything is finally made right.
