One of the challenges a lot of people experience in leadership is having to fill in the shoes of a leader who achievements are swashbuckling.

A leader whose footprints in the sands of time are large and overwhelming.

Here's my advice:

Don't be engrossed in trying to be like your predecessor or do things like them.

Learn from their successes, but create your own history, build your own legacies and achieve your own feats.

By all means, don't just be content with being like them.

The goal is for you to be better than them.
