RELIGIOUS DIVERSITY IN NIGERIA

Religious diversity is one of the inevitable problems Nigerians are facing and it has not only affected us in selecting our leaders but also has affected us In having misconceptions about ourselves.

Religious diversity has been affecting us since the amalgamation period and it is vividly visible especially when we are about to select our leaders.

When we are about to select a leader, Muslims would decide to choose a Muslim and this is also applicable to the Christians, Christians would like to choose and vote for a Christian and this goes on and on.

Then maybe for an instance, a Muslim is elected and the Muslims would be happy whereas the Christians wouldn't and whenever a slight problem occurs with the leader, one would conclude that because he is a Muslim, that is why he is favoring the Muslim the most.

Likewise to the Christians too, if a Christian leader is elected too, Muslims will also comment that he is favoring the Christians because he is a Christian.

We are now electing our leaders based on religions and ethnicities instead of looking for a person who is well devoted to serving this nation.

The problem we are having in this nation is that we are electing our leaders according to their religions and this has not made this country a better nation.

We need to stop voting based on ethnicities and religions, we all know who wants to serve this nation and we all know who wants to embezzle and destroy this nation.

We should vote for people who are ready and convenient to serve this nation.

We want a person who is ready to serve the masses not just to rule.
