The Arrogance of "Later"
Procrastination is not a bad habit. It is not "laziness," and it is not a "quirk." Procrastination is the arrogant assumption that life owes you another opportunity.
We tell ourselves we are waiting for the "right time," the "right mood," or "more energy." But while you wait, life is aggressively moving forward without you. Time is the only non-renewable resource you have, and every time you say "I’ll do it tomorrow," you are burning a piece of your future to keep your present self comfortable.
Here is what procrastination is actually doing to the pillars of your life:
Stop waiting for motivation. Motivation is a feeling, and feelings are fickle. Rely on discipline.
The next time you feel the urge to say "later," realize that "later" is a lie. There is only now.
"A year from now, you will wish you had started today."
