My Monday Story

Today, one of my team members finally found the courage to ask a question that had been on his mind for a while:

“Boss, why do you always wear native attire on Mondays instead of formal suits like other people?”

He admitted he had been wondering about it for a long time!

I smiled and told him: This is culture change in action. For me, our native attire complete with the cap is a formal dress code in Africa.

Wearing native on Monday is more than fashion. It’s a conscious choice.
It’s a reminder of the freedom I have as an entrepreneur building an Afrocentric brand.

Every time I step out on Monday in my native attire, it keeps me mindful of the market I serve the large, beautiful, diverse African market.

It’s my way of saying: We can look within, celebrate our culture, and still be global players. Dear friends, what’s your take on wearing native attire on a Monday morning as a corporate businessman or entrepreneur?

Let’s discuss. Drop your views in the comments! 👇🏽
