NIGER STATE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION WITH NATIONAL ORIENTATION AGENCY (NOA), NIGER STATE DIRECTORATE

On Tuesday, 12th May, 2026, the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Hon. Obed Nuhu Nana, paid a courtesy and familiarization visit to the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Niger State Directorate, alongside officials of the Ministry of Information.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the Ministry and the Agency as well as fostering collaboration in the area of citizens’ orientation, public enlightenment and information dissemination.

In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner expressed his pleasure and gratitude for being warmly received by the management and staff of the Agency. He emphasized the important role of the National Orientation Agency in promoting government policies, national values, and public awareness among citizens.

According to him, “Without orientation, there is no information,” stressing that information dissemination can only achieve meaningful impact when the people are properly oriented and enlightened.

The Hon. Commissioner further stated that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize himself with the Agency and to establish stronger collaboration moving forward. He assured the Agency of the Ministry’s readiness to work closely with NOA in achieving shared objectives of effective communication and public sensitization across the state.

He also disclosed that there is an upcoming training programme being organized by the Ministry of Information. The training session, according to Mallam Yususa Saidu Ibrahim anipr, Director information and Public Relation, will involve relevant stakeholders, including the National Orientation Agency, in order to strengthen collaboration and achieve the desired objectives of the programme.

In his response, the State Director of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Yahaya Ibrahim Gbongbo, appreciated the Honourable Commissioner and his team for the visit and described it as timely and encouraging. He commended the Ministry of Information for recognizing the vital role of NOA in the area of public orientation and sensitization.

The State Director assured the Hon. Commissioner of the Agency’s readiness to collaborate effectively with the Ministry in promoting government programmes, policies, and activities to the grassroots. He further highlighted some of the operational challenges facing the Agency and appealed for continuous support and partnership from the Ministry to enable the Agency discharge its responsibilities more effectively.

Mallam Yahaya Ibrahim Gbongbo also reaffirmed the commitment of the National Orientation Agency to work hand in hand with the Ministry of Information in the forthcoming training programme and other future engagements for the overall interest and development of Niger State.

The visit ended on a positive note with mutual understanding and commitment towards sustaining cordial working relationship between the Ministry of Information and the National Orientation Agency for the overall development of Niger State.
