Onyang-Ronyi Empowerment Foundation
We are delighted to announce the successful ex*****on of “Sponsor a Girl Child” project.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala once said: “Investing in women is smart economics, and investing in girls, catching them upstream is even smarter economics”.
The goal is one girl child at a time.

The Sponsor a Girl Child Project has commenced as primary and secondary schools resume. Following our recent visit to the council wards in Oju LGA of Benue State and collection of students data, we now have a budget in place.
We require a total of ₦200,000 for the school fees of 28 girls. While part of the funds has been raised, we still need about ₦150,000 (this includes logistics) to meet our goal.
Your support will be greatly appreciated and richly rewarded. More details on the flyer.

Empowering the Girl Child
At Onyang Ronyi Empowerment Foundation, we're dedicated to transforming the lives of girls, starting from our local community Oju LGA in Benue State and expanding our reach across Africa.
According to UNESCO, Africa has one of the highest rates of out-of-school girls, with approximately 34% of girls aged 6-11 and 44% of girls aged 12-14 not attending school (Source: UNESCO Institute for Statistics).
In Benue State, Nigeria, statistics show that girls face significant challenges:
- 60% of girls in Benue State are out of school
- 40% of girls in Benue State experience early marriage before age 18
- 25% of girls in Benue State experience teenage pregnancy
Our vision is to empower girls to become confident, educated, and economically independent individuals. We aim to achieve this through:
1. Sponsorship Programs: Providing financial support to girls from low-income families to access quality education.
2. Skill Acquisition: Offering vocational training in areas like tailoring, hairdressing, and entrepreneurship.
3. Mentorship: Pairing girls with positive role models to guide and inspire them.
4. Advocacy: Raising awareness about girls' education and rights.
