KOGI APPEALS has held a sensitization exercise on CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION & ADAPTATION. The objective of the exercise was to expose farmers supported by the project to the processes of adjusting to the current and future effects of climate change and making the impacts of climate change less severe.

The event was held across the three senatorial districts of the state with farmers across the three value chains of rice, cashew and cassava in attendance.

The 9th Pre -mission visit to Kogi state by a team from the National Coordinating Office of the APPEALS Project and led by the National Communication Specialist, Mrs Aishat Onusi has ended with the team inspecting project intervention sites across the three senatorial districts of the state.

At a wrap up exercise conducted to end the visit the team noted that "What we saw was very impressive" and congratulated KOGI APPEALS for being on track with project implemenation activities inline with the Project Development Objective.

The team urged the state coordination office to "fire on" and advised that the monitoring and feedback mechanism on grievances be further enhanced. The team further reviewed the presentation of the state's implementation progress report and advised accordingly.

The areas visited by the team are the New Ganaja WYEP Cluster, The Rice Processing groups at Geregu, The Rice Cottage Processing centre, Cassava processing centre all in Ajaokuta and the 2.3 km farm access road at Ihima. Others are the ADP WYEP cluster at Ayingba, A PWD WYEP beneficiary at Agala Atte and a group of Cashew WYEP beneficiaries at Ogedebeje Junction, Agbeji among others.

The 9th Pre-mission exercise was carried out in preparatory to the forthcoming 9th Implementation Support Mission exercise coming up at a later part of November.
