Was built in Constantine, Algeria in 1994.
The magnificent Emir Abdelkader Mosque was named after the "Father of Algerian nationalism". It has a maximum capacity of around 15,000.

Fluted Pumpkins popularly known as Ugwu (Ugwu leaves) is a vine plant that is essentially consumed by a great number of the populace of Nigeria, and is commonly found in the West Africa region.

It is used to prepare some very nice Nigerian soups, such as egusi, ogbono, edi kain kong, etc.

Common names for the plant include fluted gourd, fluted pumpkin, ugu (in the Igbo language), and ikong-ubong (in the Efik and Ibibio languages).

The fluted pumpkin botanically known as Telfaira occidentalis has the advantage of being enjoyed through out the year unlike some other vegetables. However, you see the leaves flood the market more during rainy season.

The dark green leaf, no doubt has been a staple vegetable in the diets of many as it can be combined with all the solid meals such as wheat, eba, fufu and the rest.

Unknown to many, pumpkin leaves are loaded with a lot of nutritional benefits which can be helpful in aligning our path to a healthy status. The seeds produced by the gourd are high in protein and fat, and can, therefore, contribute to a well-balanced diet.

Ugwu has a high fiber content, rich in iron and good for weight management. It is also an iMMUNE BOOSTER. To add to, it helps in REDUCTION OF BLOOD SUGAR for diabetes control.

NIGERIAN SHISH KEBAB

Suya is one of the most cherished local delicacies in Nigeria.

Restaurants in Lagos sell local food, grilled plantain with ground nuts, fish and more. In all of their forms, no local food is as popular as suya, very similar to shish kebab.

Suya is generally made with skewered beef, ram, or chicken. Innards such as kidney, liver and tripe are also used.

Suya is spiced with peanut cake, salt, vegetable oil and other flavorings, and then barbecued.

Suya is garnished with tomatoes, cabbage and sliced onions.

Unlike grilled suya common in other part of Nigeria, Suya is mostly dried in the northern part of Nigeria to form kilishi meat. In Abuja, kilishi is prepared with mixed spices. Kilishi can also be taken alone as a snack, or with a cup of ice cold soaked garri.

Lagos Freedom Park; culture, fun and history personified.

Lagos is known to be the city where beautiful happenings usually take place, both weekdays and weekends, in order to suite the delight of all.

We continue to hope for a better Lagos, even after the pandemic is over. We also look forward to alot of outing to meet up with, after the lock down. #

Freedom park would have been the right place to relax right now. I really do miss the usual hang out.

I remember when a friend of mine, now out of the country, took me to the park for the first time. I was really astonished at the beautiful historical view.

It was an awesome experience for me. Delicious delicacies prepared by both whites and blacks. Access to wifi. Access to both African and intercontinental dishes. Oh! how I love the fish.
