The danger of refusing to repent is very great. In our text, Jesus said He would remove their candlestick except they repent. This means the presence, glory, and fellowship of God that is holding their shining will depart from a life or church that refuses correction.
Sin separates man from God and destroys spiritual sensitivity.

God always give room for repentance because of His love and mercy. He desires restoration and not destruction. The prodigal son repented and was accepted back by his father (Luke 15:17-24).
David also repented after his sin and obtained mercy from God (Ps. 51).

As Christians, we must examine ourselves daily. We should not harden our hearts when God corrects us through His word, messages, or the Holy Spirit.
Genuine repentance brings restoration, joy, peace, and renewed fellowship with God.

“Except thou repent” is a serious warning to every believers. Heaven rejoices over one sinner that repents. Let us return to God with sincere hearts, forsake every sinful ways, and remain steadfast in our walk with Him. May God grant us the grace to live a life of daily repentance and holiness in Jesus’ name.

Rev. 2:5
“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

Repentance means more than merely saying “I am sorry.” True repentance involves a change of heart, mind, and lifestyle. It is turning away completely from sin and turning back to àGod. A repentant man hates sin and desires righteousness.
According to Prov. 28:13, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”

You need to repent from:
1. Secret sins and immoral lifestyles.
2. Prayerlessness and spiritual laziness.
3. Bitterness of heart, unforgiveness, and hatred.
4. Worldliness and love for earthly pleasures.
5. Disobedience to God’s instructions.
6. Pride and self-righteousness.

Repentance is one of the major foundations of the Christian faith. It is the call of God unto man to turn away from sin and return back to Him wholeheartedly.
*In our generation today, many people desire blessings, miracles, power, and breakthroughs, but they neglect the place of genuine repentance (First thing First).*
God is merciful, but He also demands holiness and obedience from His children.

In the book of Revelation 2:5, Jesus was speaking to the church in Ephesus. Though they laboured for God and endured many things but they had left their first love. God warned them to remember where they had fallen, repent, and return to their first works. This shows that it is possible for a believer to drift away spiritually even while still appearing active in church activities.
*Brethren; Which position are you?*

*From now, your songs shall be "THE LORD HAS DONE IT FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY".* *This is the day the Lord has made for you to rejoice and be glad.*
*The Lord will destroy every destiny waster, every glory waster, all effort waster, and all joy killer in your life permanently IJN.*

*MAN AS A LIVING SACRIFICE (2)*

Rom 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

*HOW TO GUARD OUR HOLINESS FOR IT TO BE ACCEPTABLE UNTO GOD*
👉Eyes- Turn from images that fuel lust or covetousness ( Matt 5:28)
👉Ears- Filter conversations and media through (Phill 4:8)
👉Tongue- Replace grumbling with gratitude ( Phill 2:14-16)
👉Feet- Flee places that entice sin; run toward opportunities for righteousness (2 Tim 2:22)
👉Mind- Renew thought patterns by scripture, dismantling worldly molds (Rom 12:2)

*WAYS TO SERVE OTHERS AS A SERVICE UNTO GOD:*
* Hospitality: This opens homes and tables so Christ’s love gains flesh and blood (1 Pet 4:9-10)
* Generosity: It releases hard earned resources, recognizing that money is an extension of the body’s labor
* Compassion: It involves physical touch e.g bandaging wounds,sharing tears,carrying burdens ( Luke 10:33-35)
* Public witness: Let good works shine so others “glorify your Father in Heaven “. (Matt 5:16)
