The ETH exchange rate exceeded $3,400, and the total capitalization reached $400 billion, making it the 26th place in the global list of assets. Ethereum has surpassed Johnson & Johnson and is catching up with Mastercard and Netflix.

Developers want to freeze BTC on old wallets

At the Quantum Bitcoin Summit, a radical solution was proposed: freeze vulnerable BTC, including Satoshi’s coins, to prevent a potential disaster.

25% of all bitcoins (including ~1 million BTC belonging to Satoshi) use outdated cryptography, which can be hacked by quantum computers.

If attackers gain access to these coins, it could trigger a massive sell-off and a collapse in prices.

The core of the proposal (BIP by Jameson Lopp, Casa):

⚪️ Ban transfers to old addresses (ECDSA/Schnorr).

⚪️ After 5 years — completely block withdrawals from such addresses.

⚪️ Optionally, use a recovery mechanism for frozen coins through proof of seed phrase ownership (without inflation risk).
