Buy or Sell? 🤔 In this video, we’ll break down how to identify a market shift using Break of Structure (BOS) and Mitigation Blocks — two key Smart Money Concepts every trader should master.
You’ll learn how to recognize when an uptrend is losing strength, how to spot an invalidated order block that becomes a mitigation block, and how to anticipate the next sell opportunity with confidence.
This breakdown will help you understand how institutional traders view price movement, so you can stop chasing trades and start trading with precision.

🧠 Key Things to Watch for a Valid CSoD
1️⃣ Clear Existing Delivery (Trend Context)
Before you can confirm a change in delivery, there must first be a clear delivery in one direction.
Price must be consistently creating structure (higher highs & higher lows for bullish delivery, or lower highs & lower lows for bearish delivery).
This gives you the baseline to recognize when that delivery has changed.
No clear trend = no clear CSoD.
2️⃣ Liquidity Grab or Sweep
Before delivery changes, Smart Money hunts liquidity.
Watch for:
Price running above a previous high (in bullish delivery) or below a previous low (in bearish delivery).
Stop hunts or fake breakouts — these are liquidity collections before the reversal.
This step confirms Smart Money is done delivering to one side.
3️⃣ Violation of Opposite Candles (The Shift)
This is the core of CSoD.
In bullish delivery → watch for a strong bearish candle or series that violates the lows or bodies of recent bullish (up-close) candles.
In bearish delivery → watch for a strong bullish candle or series that violates the highs or bodies of recent bearish (down-close) candles.
This violation signals a true shift in delivery — not just a pullback.
4️⃣ Displacement (Impulsive Move)
After the violation, you should see clear displacement — a sharp, impulsive move showing institutional order flow.
The candle(s) should create Fair Value Gaps (FVGs) or clear momentum imbalance.
This proves the market isn’t just retracing — it’s repricing in a new direction.
5️⃣ Market Structure Break (BOS or CHoCH)
The CSoD becomes stronger when it coincides with a Break of Structure (BOS) or Change of Character (CHoCH).
This confirms that the trend structure has shifted, not just short-term price movement.
Structure + Delivery shift = confirmed Smart Money transition.
6️⃣ Origin Candle (Order Block Confirmation)
Identify the last opposing candle before the displacement move — that’s your valid Order Block (OB).
For bearish CSoD → last bullish candle before bearish displacement.
For bullish CSoD → last bearish candle before bullish displacement.
This candle marks the institutional zone responsible for the new delivery.
7️⃣ Volume and Time Confluence (Optional but Powerful)
The move often happens during high-liquidity sessions (London or New York).
Volume should expand during the displacement phase.
This aligns with institutional participation.
✅ Quick Checklist Summary
When assessing a CSoD, ask yourself:
# Confirmation Point What to See
1 Clear Delivery Trending market (HH/HL or LH/LL)
2 Liquidity Grab Stop hunt above/below key level
3 Violation Opposite close candle breaking prior structure
4 Displacement Strong impulsive move / FVG formed
5 Structure Shift BOS or CHoCH confirming transition
6 Valid Order Block Last opposite candle before displacement
7 Timing Institutional session + volume
⚡️ Pro Insight (From ProTradesInsight)
“A CSoD without displacement is just noise.
A CSoD without structure is confusion.
A CSoD with both displacement and structure — that’s Smart Money in motion.”
