2. Measure a rectangle 12 inches on one side and 24 inches on the other (the bigger numbers on your tape measures inches) mark with tailors chalk.
3. Cut fabric along the marked lines.
4. Fold the long side of your fabric by 1 inch.
5. Stitch with running stitches, leaving enough space for ribbon/cord to pass through.

6. To design your bag place it in the hoop draw your design with chalk and embroider it
7. Fold the fabric in half, pretty sides together and pin in place with safety pins.
8. Sew the two edges with small running stitches, stopping just where the top stitch starts. Leave the top open.
9. Turn the bag inside out
10. Ask an adult to put the large safety pin on the end of the ribbon/cord.

11. Work the pin round the space left for the ribbon (see step 5) until it comes through the other side then remove pin.
12. Tie ribbon and your bag is good to go.

Note: this bag is big enough for your hoop and sewing supplies; you can choose to make a smaller bag to keep little treasures, crayons, sweet, jewelry or anything you fancy!
