📺🤝 Sony and TCL announce new company “Bravia Inc.” for TVs and home theater

Sony and TCL have taken a big step in the TV market: the two have announced the creation of a new company called Bravia Inc., focused on televisions and home theater products. The idea is to join forces to better compete in an increasingly competitive market.

The agreement has already been formalized, with TCL holding 51% of the new company, while Sony retains 49%. In practice, this means that TCL will have operational control, while Sony continues to contribute with its brand, technology, and more premium positioning.

The proposal of this partnership is very clear: to combine TCL's production capacity and scale with Sony's experience in image and quality, especially in the Bravia line, which is already well established in the market.

Even with the announcement made, the new company has not yet started operating. The forecast is that Bravia Inc. will begin operations in 2027, which indicates that the integration between the two will still take some time to actually appear in products.

If this partnership works as expected, it could significantly impact the market—especially in the balance between quality and price, where these two companies operate very differently today.

📱🧲 Xiaomi 17 Fold may feature a magnetic modular camera

Xiaomi may be preparing something quite unconventional for its next foldable phone. A new rumor suggests that the possible Xiaomi 17 Fold could feature a magnetic modular camera that attaches to the device and can be swapped out as needed.

In practice, the idea would be to make the phone more versatile: you could use the standard set daily and attach different modules when you want more zoom, a better sensor, or a different type of lens. It's almost like bringing the idea of "interchangeable lenses" into the smartphone.

If this actually happens, it could be a way to solve a common limitation of cell phones: the difficulty of evolving the camera without significantly increasing the size of the device. With modules, Xiaomi could offer more options without making the phone always "heavy" or with a huge camera block.

For now, everything is still in the realm of rumors, so it's impossible to know if this will reach the final product or remain just a concept. But the direction is interesting: instead of just improving sensors, the brand may be trying to completely change the way we use cameras on our cell phones.

🖼🔋 Samsung launches a 13-inch colour ‘e-paper’ display and sets its sights on more cost-effective shop displays

Samsung has unveiled a new 13-inch colour screen featuring e-paper technology, designed for situations where the image needs to remain static for long periods without constantly consuming power. The aim is clear: to offer a more cost-effective alternative for digital signage, menus, labels and small shop displays.

The main appeal of this type of display lies precisely in its energy consumption. As with e-readers, it requires almost no power to keep the image visible, which can significantly reduce costs in simpler commercial applications. The difference is that this now comes in colour, making it more eye-catching than traditional black-and-white e-paper.

In practice, Samsung appears to be targeting shops, restaurants and businesses that want to modernise their visual communication without relying on conventional monitors left on all day. It is the sort of product that does not seek to compete with TVs or fast-refreshing displays, but rather to solve a very specific problem: displaying static content far more efficiently.

Another key point is the 13-inch size, which places this screen in an interesting niche: large enough to catch the eye on counters and in smaller shop windows, yet still compact enough for a wide range of uses.

📱🪄 Oppo Find N6 makes the crease almost disappear and raises the level for foldable phones

Oppo has officially launched the Find N6 with a very clear proposition: to deliver a more "mature" foldable phone, one that looks less like a prototype and more like a product ready for heavy daily use. The highlight is the new screen with an almost imperceptible crease effect, in addition to a 200 MP main camera and a 6,000 mAh battery.

What changes in practice

The brand's idea was to address precisely the point that bothers most people with foldable phones: that crease in the middle of the screen. The Find N6 promises a much flatter internal screen, with a much more discreet crease to the touch and to the eye. Along with this, it comes with a slim design for its category, weighing 225 g and measuring 8.93 mm when closed.

Camera, battery and performance

The device also comes in strong in the rest of the package: a 200 MP main camera, a set with additional 50 MP lenses, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, and a 6,000 mAh battery. In other words, Oppo wanted to make a foldable phone without looking like a "compromise," also targeting those who care a lot about photography and battery life.

Price and availability

In China, the price starts at 9,999 yuan, which is around US$1,450. The launch outside of China has been confirmed for some Asian markets, Australia, and New Zealand, with sales starting on March 20th.

The highlight is the H2 chip, which brings to the AirPods Max functions that were previously lacking in this model.

What changes in practice

The promise is an ANC up to 1.5x more efficient than the previous generation, in addition to a more natural transparency mode. For those who use a cable, it now also supports lossless audio at 24-bit/48 kHz via USB-C.

Price and when it goes on sale

Abroad, the AirPods Max 2 was announced for US$549. Pre-orders begin on March 25th, with general availability expected in early April.
