In an old house, a certain rat formed a dangerous habit. Night after night, it would sneak into the kitchen in search of fish. It tiptoed across the floor, nibbling dry or fresh pieces it found. The taste thrilled it, and with each secret meal, the rat grew bolder, convinced nothing could stop it.⁣
⁣
Soon, the house owner noticed his missing fish. Rather than chase the rat around, he devised a smarter plan. He bought a freshly roasted fish, its aroma warm, rich, and irresistible. But before setting it in the kitchen, he sprinkled deadly poison on it.⁣
⁣
That night, the entire room filled with the irresistible scent. The rat rushed out eagerly. And there it was, the roasted fish, brighter, fresher, and more delicious than anything it had ever tasted. It took its first bite, and the flavor felt heavenly. The rat ate joyfully, completely convinced it had found a treasure.⁣
⁣
But within minutes, the sweetness turned to weakness.⁣
Its strength faded.⁣
Its body failed.⁣
What seemed delightful ended up destroying it.⁣
⁣
The rat enjoyed the sweetness, but the poison killed it.⁣
⁣
This is exactly how sin works.⁣
⁣

The devil never shows the poison, only the sweetness.⁣
He hides the consequences and reveals only the pleasure.⁣
But every sinful pleasure carries a hidden price: death, separation from God, and destruction of spiritual life.⁣

Many carry the weight of past sins, mistakes, and regrets, feeling too broken or unworthy to come before God. But God’s call is not a call to condemnation, it is a call to repentance, mercy, and restoration.⁣⁣

Every few years, new claims arise about when the world will end. Even in the early church, believers lived with a strong expectation that Jesus could return at any moment, just as He taught them to watch and be ready. As the apostles aged, they were led by the Holy Spirit to write the Gospels, not because their hope was mistaken, but so that the life and teachings of Christ would be preserved for generations to come. Luke even makes this clear in the opening of his Gospel.⁣

Sadly, throughout history and even in our time, false predictions have continued. Some people have sold their property, quit their jobs, or traveled to certain “chosen locations,” believing they would be taken up into heaven, only to face disappointment and return to rebuild their lives. Alongside these claims, false prophets keep trying to mislead sincere Christians.⁣

But Jesus has already warned us: 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫. Not prophets. Not theories. Not calculations. Only the Father.⁣

So instead of chasing predictions, let’s focus on what truly matters, living each day ready to meet our God. When our hearts are prepared, it won’t matter when He comes; we will be found faithful.⁣

This message is still relevant today. There are moments in life when delay can be dangerous, when hesitation can cost destiny, and when looking back can lead to destruction. God’s instruction was clear: do not look back, do not stay in the plain, escape to the mountain lest you be consumed.⁣

Many are comfortable in places God is calling them out from. Some are lingering where grace has already made a way of escape. But divine mercy always comes with divine instruction.⁣

To “escape for your life” means:⁣
⁣
- Letting go of what God has condemned⁣
- Refusing to be distracted by what lies behind⁣
- Running toward God’s appointed place of safety⁣
- Acting swiftly when God speaks⁣
⁣
Lot’s wife looked back and it cost her everything. The lesson is simple but powerful: your future is ahead, not behind.⁣

Some of the disciples may have been saying, “If I had known this is the way the table would later turn, I shouldn’t have made up my mind to follow Him.”⁣

On Sunday, Mary Magdalene and her company decided to visit the tomb to spray perfume on the body of this good man killed by cruel hands. On their way, there was a contemplation: who will roll away the stone? But to their amazement, on getting there, they discovered that the stone had been rolled away.⁣

“Who had rolled away the stone?” they questioned.⁣
“Maybe they’ve stolen the body of our Lord,” they reasoned.⁣

There is certainly some good that comes from this, but with more access to information there is also more access to misinformation than ever as well. How can we find valuable information and people to listen to with the bombardment of noise and false-truths that we encounter in our lives? Let us turn to these words from Moses in Deuteronomy for some guidance.⁣

Moses made it clear that God will raise up a prophet like unto him from among Gods people and put his words in his mouth, anybody that fails to listen to him(the prophet) will be destroyed. Jesus came into the world to show us the way to God, his words can be trusted than any other. He said in John 3:3 except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Are you born again? Repent from your sins today by confessing them in simplicity and humility, invite Jesus into your life and then you're saved.⁣
