Inspired by the memory of the Late General Owoye Andrew Azazi and his undying aspiration to contribute to the betterment of the Nigerian youth, the General Owoye Andrew Azazi Foundation was incorporated in 2013 as a non-governmental organization in Nigeria. The late General’s legacies forms the major drive for us as a foundation which centres on a commitment to excellence and providing equal opportunity for the underprivileged. The story of General Azazi’s accomplishments; his humble birth in remote Peretorugbene, Bayelsa Sate; his iconic rise to lead the Nigerian Armed Forces, and later serve as Nigeria’s first National Security Adviser of southern extraction, inspired faith in us not to underestimate the potential of what any child can become. We believe that given the same opportunities as wards of privileged homes, every one of them can excel like General Azazi to iconic heights regardless of their humble backgrounds.
