My trousers lying carelessly on the bed seemed to look at me in utter disgust. I feel pity on myself, but if there's someone in a worse situation than me, na that person I pity pass 😅.

I was still smiling to myself when a sudden aroma passed my nostrils. What's that smell? Fried rice and wait, do I smell chicken? Wow, so even in this condition, someone has the mind to be frying chicken. I had to check my calendar on the wall to be sure that today wasn't a day of celebration because I wondered how someone could be cooking something as delicious as that in the present economic situation.

I looked out the window... of course, it had to be Mr. James. The only person that will do such a thing. Like... it's the audacity for me, opening all your doors and windows just to frustrate me . By the side of his door, on the inner part of his house, stood a gas stove, lighted with a steaming pot on top, vapour carrying sweet chicken smell kept evaporating from it, saliva filled my mouth, my eyes teary as my stomach growled in anticipation. This is pure temptation!

I said it that this guy is just after my life. I am here, complaining of hunger, and all he could do is to fry chicken. The house seems deserted, no one in sight. Omor... man of prestige gets to chop oh. I silently opened the door, and tiptoed to the front of his room. All that stood between me and the pot was my pride, something I had to get rid of.

I looked left and right, and since no one was around - so I thought, I stretched out my hand to open the pot as silently as possible and probably get a bite of one or two pieces before slipping back to my room. All was going well, well until something grabbed it!

My heart skipped ten beats at a time. I looked up, and I saw...
