PRAYER: Ephesians3:16 "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;"
TOPIC: GOD IS NOT A DEITY: Temptation (1)
TEXT: 1Cor. 10:13 (Kjv) "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
Good evening beloved, how was your day, and hope you are paying attention to your spiritual growth?
Today we will continue our series on "God is not a deity" (sorry for yesterday's break and if you miss any of the post, check our page) our subject today is on 'Temptation'.
The question is, does God really tempt his children? People tends to attribute different situations of life to God.
Let consider two Bible passages on this issue.
1. 1Cor. 10:13 (Kjv) "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
2. James 1:13-14 (Kjv) "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
14. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."
First it certain, the word of God cannot contradict itself.
The amplified version of 1cor 10:13 our first text reads.
AMP: "For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently."
It is obvious (if we pay attention to details) that God does not tempt anyone.
In fact, Jesus was tempted of the devil Who is refers to as the tempter. Mat. 4:3 (Kjv) "And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread."
So the tempter is not God, but the devil.
In Mat. 26:41"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
That prayer will prevent a believer from falling into temptation, which is of the devil.
And of course, Apostle James explains the cause of temptation
James 1:13-14 (Kjv)" [13]Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Now we have a full view and understanding on temptation, so what should be our reaction to it?
1. It would be blasphemous to attribute our temptation to be from God, instead, we should look inwards, that is, we should take heed to our spiritual growth, like Jesus told his disciples to pray not to fall into temptation. Notice if Did not say pray to prevent temptation, but not to fall into it. For as we remain on earth, temptation is bound to come. If Jesus could be tempted, who are you?
But our attitude towards temptation should be to pay a closer attention to our spiritual life; in prayer, Bible study and the association we keep.

PRAYER: EPH.3:16 "that he will grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man"
TOPIC: GOD IS NOT A DEITY: consequence of an Antecedent.
TEXT: Genesis 42:28 (Kjv) "and he said unto his brethren, my money is restored; and lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, WHAT IS THIS THAT GOD HATH DONE UNTO US?".
Good evening beloved, how was your day? Trust it was great.
Yesterday, we begin a series on the topic God is not a deity. Our sub-topic tonight is "consequence of an antecedent"
many a time people make some comments ignorantly, saying, God is responsible for every action that happens or did not happen in a man's life; things such as, misfortune, sickness or infirmities etc are often attributed to God. This then birth statements like, 'what will be will be', let is will be done, God will help all of us ...
People believe what ever happens to a believer, either good or bad, must be a consequence of an antecedent, that is, when a believer faces, a difficult time or challenge, it must be a repercussion of what such believer has done in the past, either a sin, an inherited curses or misfortune etc
John 9:2 "And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man or his parents, that he was Bonn blind?"
Jesus' reply was in the negative, saying it was for the work of God to
be made manifest.
From this passage, we understand, this is the usual believe in the law of Moses; an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. However, Jesus' reply in the 9th chapter of John and verse 3. Points to us the Eradication such thinking.
The same thought in our Bible text above, where the brothers of Joseph attributed there awkwardly situation as a consequence of their sin against Joseph, but when we read on, the whole chapter, we discovered, it was Joseph playing tricks on them.
This is also the predicament of some believers.
And no the other hand, it is believed whatsoever we do as a believer, e.g giving, service to God in your local church, attending programs or going on evangelism etc.. Are an antecedent for the purpose of reciprocative consequence; that is, somewhere in your heart u are creating a financial reward or a certain reward for attending service on Sunday or for preaching the gospel.
Apostle Paul, said, why should glory in myself for preaching the gospel, for woe is me, if preach not the gospel.
That is, preaching the gospel, is my responsibility and not a favor I rendered to God.
So therefore, I expect no reward (even though there is eternal rewards) for am a child of God (john 1:11-12) so all I do in the body of Christ, is my responsibility as son in the family.
Therefore, as believers, we must know that God is not the author of evil, His our loving father, who loves us unconditionally... So beloved, I say to you, REPENT of whom you think God is, when God saved you through faith in Christ Jesus, he did not take away your decision making responsibility.
God leads us by his Spirit, but u choose to follow this leading or not. So you have a role to play, in how your life turns out, and not just conclude that is how Hoe wants it or, that is how it is written for me. This are just lazy and ignorant blame on God. You either, decide to follow God's leading for your life or go about it yourself. Repent of your thoughts and Belief.
God bless 👉You

🌍 LIFE IN THE WORD. 05/01/17
PRAYER: Colossians 1:9-11 (Kjv) "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to desire that he might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10. That ye might worthy of Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11. Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness;" (Amen)
TOPIC: Prayer And The. Church 1
TEXT: Mathew 16:18 (Kjv) "And I say also unto thee, thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
Good evening dear friend, how was your day today, hope you are practically following our series on Prayer? Knowing learning how to pray is not the same as praying, until you start praying, you have not prayed, it not enough for you to get blessed by reading the teaching but the real blessing is when you bring yourself to pray always for long...
Yesterday, we looked at Jesus Our Model in Prayer, we discussed how Jesus taught us to pray by act and by training. Today we want to look at Prayer and the Church.
We will see, how the church of God was established on prayer in the book of Acts. How the Apostles utilize the training given them by our Lord Jesus Christ, they never did anything without prayer. In fact, we will find out that prayer is the bedrock for any spiritual manifestations including the gift of the Spirit.
First let's look at the B part of our text, "... And the gates of hell shall not PREVAIL against it"
To prevail means to overcome after a battle, to conquer, to subdue...
Acts 19:16(Kjv)" And the man in whom the evil Spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and PREVAILED against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded."
It was used to mean, to overpower, subdue
Acts19:20(Kjv) "So mightily grew the word of God and PREVAILED"
The word of God prevailed against... Wicked and unreasonable men, against religion, traditionalism, materialism, false prophets e.t.c.
How did the church prevailed? In prayers...
Acts1:14 (Kjv) "This all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.."
They tarried praying for the promise of the Holy Ghost.
In Acts 1:24 they seek the face of the Lord in prayer for the appointment of a new apostle who replace Judas.
Acts 2:42 (Kjv) "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread and in PRAYERS"
They prayed without ceasing, the church was given to prayer, not to entertainment, comedy or sociality but, unto Prayer. When we don't pray, we will resolve to our own tactics to fulfill God's mandate, which will be counter productive...
In Acts 4, the apostles where threatened, not to preach the gospel again, just the gospel all over world is being threatened today. The apostles did not go on rampage in a peaceful protest or take to the media. But they PRAYED.
Note something in verse 29, the Apostles never prayed for the death of the Pharisees who threatened them, nor that they be destroy with fire and thunder...
(Kjv) "And now, Lord behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word"
They ask for boldness and manifestations of the power of God through signs and wonders... They prayed for it...
And in verse 31of the same chapter, we find the result of their prayers immediately,
(Kjv) "And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together, and they were all filled in the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness."
This is so clear, the church of today must refocus it's priorities back to the essence of its establishment by Christ Jesus. Prayer must be a constant not seasonal, we don't need a prayer department, prayer is not a calling, it not one of the gift of the Spirit, every believer should be given to prayer... It is our nature... To be continued... God bless YOU... We win... We win
