After joining Aston Villa in 2012, Christian Benteke had a habit of scoring against Liverpool almost every season.

Liverpool’s answer to putting an end to that was straightforward: if you can’t stop him, buy him 😅

And so they did, paying £32.5 million to sign the Belgian striker in 2015.

The move didn't work out, however. Benteke lasted just one season at Anfield, scoring only nine goals in the process. He was sold to Crystal Palace the following year.

On his return to Anfield in his first season with Palace, he - of course - scored twice against Liverpool and led Palace to a 2-1 win 😂😂
