Title: "Blessed are Those Who Uphold Justice"
Text: Psalm 106:3
Psalm 106:3 says, "Blessed are those who uphold justice, who practice righteousness at all times." Today, we'll explore what it means to uphold justice and practice righteousness.
- Upholding justice is a blessing (Psalm 106:3)
- Those who uphold justice are blessed by God
- Justice is a fundamental aspect of God's character
- Justice involves advocating for the vulnerable (Proverbs 31:8-9, Isaiah 1:17)
- Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves
- Defend the rights of the poor and needy
- Righteousness involves living morally (Psalm 15:2, Matthew 5:6)
- Living with integrity and honesty
- Hungering and thirsting for righteousness
- Micah 6:8 - "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"
- Zechariah 7:9-10 - "Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor."
- 1 John 3:7-8 - "Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil."
