If there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s the power of having a solid support system.

I’ve been helped, held, and strengthened by mine. My family has always had my back, no matter the pressure I face outside, I know there’s a safe space waiting for me at home.

Not to say they indulge me o, but they give me room to rest, reflect, and then gently push me forward in my journey, wherever that may lead.

Just this morning, I woke up feeling completely down. I didn’t even have the energy to call anyone. Then, out of the blue, I got a call from a Professor I hold dear to my heart. She started by saying she just felt led to call me, over something mundane. But as we spoke, I opened up, and she held my hand virtually, speaking life into me, pouring herself into me.

That moment reminded me again how much we all need people, genuine people who care for us.

Support systems are not talked about enough. You might not have a family like mine, but maybe you have a friend, mentor, or colleague you can lean on.

The trick is learning who to open up to and allowing your heart to actually lean.

You are not a stone.
You need a community.
