A really interesting lineup choice from Liam Rosenior.

I honestly did not expect Acheampong to start, but it’s great to see him in the XI. Chelsea’s decision-makers have repeatedly said they trust him, so this feels like them backing those words with action.

The centre-back pairing of Acheampong and Chalobah will be one to watch. It’s an intriguing combination and could tell us a lot about how Rosenior wants to set up defensively.

Gusto at right-back is a solid option, even though I would have preferred Reece James. Unfortunately, James doesn’t even make the bench.

Cucurella at left-back makes sense. The midfield trio of Santos, Caicedo, and Enzo Fernández looks well-balanced, and the forward line of Estêvão, João Pedro, and Cole Palmer is genuinely exciting.

I don’t think this is a straightforward 4-2-1-2-1. Rosenior has me scratching my head a bit with the shape, but it feels like it will settle into something close to a 4-3-3 once the game gets going.
