Speaking tomorrow at the 9th Annual Symposium hosted by by 10am.
I’ll be sharing on “Parenting The Whole Child with Cerebral Palsy.”
If you’re a parent of a child with Cerebral Palsy, this is a conversation you truly don’t want to miss. Come ready with your questions, your concerns, and an open heart. We’ll be having real, honest, and practical discussions.
For those who may not know me, here’s a little about my journey:
I am Adedotun Akande, a passionate advocate for Nigeria’s autism community and the founder of Patrick Speech and Language Centre, established in 2006 as the country’s first autism center. Through this work and the Puresouls Learning Foundation, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children with autism through speech and occupational therapy, and seeing many successfully integrate into mainstream schools.
I’m also deeply committed to creating vocational opportunities for adults with autism because every individual deserves dignity, purpose, and inclusion.
My journey hasn’t been without challenges: funding, awareness, and societal perceptions but my drive is rooted in my lived experience as a mother and my passion to see families like mine thrive.
I look forward to connecting with you.

You are not alone
26/11/2025
It’s my birthday, but this year, I want to dedicate this space to someone incredibly special: my brother-in-law, Mr. Olusegun Awolowo.
While he was family by marriage, he was so much more, a pillar of strength, a source of unwavering support, and a true cornerstone of our family. He stood by us in our most challenging moments, and his presence was a constant, reassuring force. For the gift of his life and for allowing our paths to cross in this lifetime, I am eternally grateful to God.
We remember him as an intentional and loving husband to my sister, a doting and devoted father to his children, and a grandfather whose eyes lit up with pure joy. He was, in every sense, a lover of family.
Though he is no longer with us physically, his legacy of love and kindness continues to surround us. We miss his laughter, his wisdom, and his presence every day. On this day, as you all so kindly celebrate me, I humbly ask for your prayers for my sister, their children, and grandchildren. Please pray that they feel God’s comfort and strength in abundance, and that the peace which surpasses all understanding guards their hearts.
May his beautiful soul continue to rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed, but forever loved.
