Former Governor of Anambra State and 2027 Presidential aspirant Mr. Peter Obi, on Tuesday, 19th May 2026, received the Presidential Nomination Form of his party Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), after over two and a half hours, the screening committee, led by the former Governor of Ebonyi State Dr. Sam Egwu carefully reviewed all his documents, including his degree certificates, NYSC credentials, and age declarations before clearing him.

According to Obi, he said, " During the process, I also addressed questions regarding my vision for a new Nigeria and the type of leadership our nation urgently needs right now. Following this, I was cleared and received the presidential nomination form I had previously paid for".

On Friday, 15th May 2026, the Federal Character Commissioner representing Enugu State, Hon. Peter Eze, received the leadership of Enugu Youth Association (EYA) led by the National President, Comrade Aroh Michael Nwafor.

Speaking further, he applauded the vision, commitment, and sense of purpose demonstrated by the leadership of EYA. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their dedication to the growth and unity of Enugu youths.
