The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) would like to address recent publications implying an increase in examination registration fees. Contrary to these insinuations, the cost of obtaining JAMB's UTME application documents remains at N3,500, a figure established since its reduction from N5,000 in 2018.

Despite the prevailing economic challenges affecting operational costs, JAMB asserts that there has been no upward adjustment in the price of application documents. The Board emphasizes its commitment to alleviating candidates' financial burden and ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities.

To keep costs low, JAMB has taken proactive measures, including providing the Use of English reading text free of charge through a QR code, thereby preventing an additional financial burden on candidates.

Moreover, JAMB rejects calls for a drastic increase in fees from partnering and privately-owned centers, reinforcing its stance that services are not for profit. For clarity, the 2024 UTME/DE e-PIN remains at N3,500. The registration fee of N700, previously paid to CBT centers, will now be collected by the Board, alongside N1,500 for the main UTME and N1,500 for the optional Mock-UTME, streamlining the process for candidates.
