From the moment we are born, we are political. Controversial. What for others is an organ that covers, protects becomes a template on which all forms of bias grows and mutates. Having already appeared in this world and in conversation as a thing to be criticized, a kind of incomplete human form, it follows that we become undeserving stewards of our own lands, our own history, our own bodies.

As I reflect on these ideologies, it begins to weigh even heavier that our skin must speak. That we must impart our skin with a voice and while we speak, advocate and continue to affirm our completeness, our Skin will speak too.
