“I have been seeing of recent, some social media giants in Nigeria going around trying to raise protests. Nobody is stopping anyone from protesting but we should always remember the unintended consequences because these protests might be hijacked. And people might be killed or injured.”

G¥nmen strike again on Oyo highway, kill two in fresh Kishi-Igbeti attack.

Fear has gripped residents of Oyo State’s Oke-Ogun zone following fresh attacks by suspected bandits along the Kishi-Igbeti and Igboho-Igbeti road corridors, leaving atleast two persons dead and several others injred within 24 hours.

The latest incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Friday along the Kishi-Igbeti road when g¥nmen ambushed a moving vehicle and opened f+re. An electricity worker identified as Moshood Kayode, popularly known as “Mr. Kay,” and one other were k+lled, while other occupants sustained inj¥ries.

On Saturday, another attack was reported along the Igbope-Igbeti axis near the Old Oyo National Park. Eyewitnesses said heavily armed men dressed in military camouflage suddenly emerged from the forest and began sh++ting at passing vehicles around 3:25 p.m.

Among the vehicles attacked were a red Volkswagen Golf and a commercial passenger bus, whose tyre was punctured by bullets. Four occupants of the Golf car, including the driver, Alhaji Rafiu Jimoh, and one Jubril Jelili, sustained serious gunshot wo¥nds while travelling from Igbeti to Saki.

Despite their injuries, the victims reportedly managed to drive back to Igboho, where they were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

“We thought they were soldiers because of the camouflage they wore, but they suddenly started shooting at vehicles,” an eyewitness recounted.

Security personnel, including operatives of the police, NSCDC, Amotekun Corps and local forest guards, were deployed to the scene and later secured the area.

The att@cks have intensified concerns over growing insecurity around the Old Oyo National Park, which residents allege has become a hideout for k+dnappers and armed gangs.

Residents are now calling for urgent military and police operations to flush out criminal elements and restore safety along the troubled road corridors.

“So we were sitting down, minding our business, and Nathaniel Bassey climbed the pulpit and blew the trumpet. I’m like, okay, you can signify the trumpet in Revelation, linking it with the end of the world, this is the end of Alex’s world. May his soul rest in peace.

But then he starts talking and says he has never met Alex before, but his friend, another pastor, said they should go and pray for Alex, that they wanted to pray for Alex and sing for him.

They were supposed to go on a Tuesday, but Alex d!£d on a Monday, and they still went on Tuesday to sing and pray. And I’m like, you’re all standing in front of me saying this. As in, really?

You stood there and still went to perform? What happened to all the miracles, healings, and resurrections you post on your platforms? I would have thought this was an opportunity to show your God’s glory.

Another pastor came, preached, and I was in m0urn!ng. I was seeing the handsome guy, his wife who is a widow now, his younger brother and sister, and the person who spoke on behalf of the father.

Those were the things I wanted to hear. I didn’t want to hear a sermon, but I can tolerate a sermon, segment my brain, just watch and filter out the parts that make sense and throw the rest in the d&stb!n.

Then Mercy Chinwo climbed the pulpit and turned the place into a concert. At that point, I got up and left. And here’s my question. You people said Daddy Freeze disobeyed the dress code, but does Mercy Chinwo not have soft music? Do you understand what a fun£ral is?

The kind of music that should be played at a fun£ral is soft music, like hymns. I would have been more moved if I heard hymns.

If I had gone there and the family just came and read Bible verses, I would have loved all that. Then they should have just played hymns for two hours. I would have sat down there and enjoyed it.

Songs like “I’m not going to see this guy again.” And I see people shouting and singing, and I’m like, we Nigerians have missed everything...."

- Media personality Daddy Freeze explains why he left late actor Alex Ekubo’s service of songs.
