Daniel and his other three companion were favoured in Babylon. They were among those picked to study in Babylon University so they can work in king's palace in the future. The content of the favour they received was enormous. It included eating and drinking Babylonian's delicacies. As Jews, Daniel and his companions knew that it is not allowed of God for them to eat Babylonian's delicacy. They rejected it.
Many in church today, if they were the ones in Daniel's place then would have come to church and give testimony. They would have included being favoured and privileged to eat what King of Babylon was eating in the testimony. We must watch favour, miracles and breakthrough that come our ways. Embedded in some favours are sins and compromise.
Like Daniel and his companions we must scrutinize all offers given us to see if there is anyone that is against God's demand from us. Any favour anyone is showing us must be examined in detail for demands that are not biblical. A child of God must not jump on any offer and thereby sin against God. We must place pleasing God over and above being happy, rich and fulfilled.
I ask God to make us love obeying him more than any other thing in Jesus' name.
