Sometimes, I intentionally pose probing questions to my students to gauge their thoughts and perspectives on specific topics. One such question is: "Does anyone here believe that people can achieve success without schooling and education?"

Typically, 8 to 10 hands shoot up, and each student enthusiastically shares their views, often defending their assumptions with references to influential and wealthy individuals. After they've presented their points, I confidently interject, "That's not true; no one achieves greatness without the power of schooling and education."

They might object, citing examples of successful individuals, but I respond with conviction, "I acknowledge their successes, and I'd argue that they too leveraged the power of schooling and education."

My thoughtful and insightful counterpoints often leave them nodding in contemplation, responding with a thoughtful "Hmmm" and a smile.

There are many such misconceptions about schooling and education that go unaddressed in students' minds, undermining the value of learning.
