They said beans gives blood.
I didn’t argue.
But I never really rated it. Because how will something that smells like poverty in the compound be the same thing that builds kings?

Until one day…

I was broke.
Not broke like “manage spaghetti.”
Broke like “should I boil water and drink it like tea?”

I opened my cupboard. Beans stared back.
Silent. Humble. Available.
I hissed. But hunger humbled me.

I soaked it. Waited hours. Boiled it.
Added onions, pepper, palm oil ,small crayfish from corner-corner.

When I say that pot of beans reset my destiny...
I mean my ancestors clapped from the other side.

After eating it?

I washed clothes

Cleaned my room

Replied 8 messages I have been ignoring

Energy was unmatched.
Mind became clear.

That’s the day I respected beans.

Now anytime life tries to humble me,
I humble it first…
With beans and calmness.

Because guess what?

You can’t fight someone who just ate beans.
They’re strong, full, and ready for anything including heartbreak.😂😂😂
