# Encouragement Wednesday #
That child of yours who didn't do 'well' academically last term needs some words of encouragement from you.
You might not have seen her result for last term. But irrespective of her performance, she needs encouragement from you as the parent.
Beating, insulting, starving him of food, deprivation, and every other kind of punishment which you have meted / or plan to carry out on your child as a result of her Academic performance, won't transform her automatically.
Here are my suggestions;
1. Praise her for going to school ( she didn't skip school) and sitting for the exam.
2. Reassure him that you love him irrespective of his academic performance. Why should your love be conditional?
3. Identify the root cause(s) behind the poor performance. It could be a poor reading habit, the friends she follows in school, sight difficulty, compression difficulty, fear, home environment, etc.
4. Start early. Those who won gold medals started training 4 years before the next Olympics.
5. Stop using negative remarks and self- defeating words at your child. Words are powerful, and they become more potent when they come from the parents.
6. Start seeing your child the way you want him to be. There is power in visualisation.
I hope this helps.
I just wanted to share this with you.
If you find it meaningful, please like, leave a comment, and share.
Stay blessed.
To your parenting success.

NB: A child might be poor in Maths, Science, English language, etc, but greatness lies beneath his heart.
