I wasn’t ready to be a dad, but I stayed and tried to support her.

Then at the hospital, her father named my child without my consent.

My name wasn’t included.
My voice didn’t matter.

They called it tradition.
I called it disrespect.

I reacted out of pain and walked away.

Four months later, I still haven’t seen my son.

Now I’m left with one question:
Was this about culture…
or about pushing me out?

Am I overreacting
or was that the moment everything broke?

I just got accepted into MIT.
My dream school.

Instead of celebrating with me, my boyfriend told me not to go.
He said I should attend his college so we won’t have to do long distance.

Then he said something that broke my heart:
“Choosing MIT means you’re choosing yourself over me.”

Now I’m confused.
I love him.
But this dream existed long before him.

Am I selfish for following my dream…
or foolish if I give it up?
