The original beads used for waist gear, or beret, known as bau-bengin, are crafted from a finely curated blend of classic East Asian beads.

These distinctive colours are found in both the Kelabit traditional beret (bata’ betawi) and the Lun Bawang classic beret (birar metulem / melak).

Each detail echoes the stories of our ancestors, bringing back a sense of nostalgia through forms once worn with pride.

Designed to be paired effortlessly with a selapid or beret rigit, this waist gear completes the look with grace. More than an accessory, it is a statement, a celebration of identity, culture, and the enduring beauty of our native heritage.
