Police have arrested ‘Ayesha’, the domestic worker suspected in the brutal mother–daughter murder case in Mohammadpur’s Shahjahan Road.
According to officials, initial interrogation reveals that the killings stemmed from a robbery attempt inside the flat.

Investigators say the suspect tried to steal valuables and became violent when the homeowner attempted to call the police. During the confrontation, she allegedly attacked Laila Afroz with a knife.
When Laila’s daughter Nafisa realized what was happening and tried to alert the building security guard, the accused reportedly attacked the teenager as well, leading to both deaths.

Police confirm that Ayesha had been working at the residence for only four days and had provided a false name and address at the time of employment. She had fled the building disguised in a school uniform after the crime, carrying a mobile phone, laptop, gold jewelry, and cash.

Authorities say further interrogation is underway to determine the full motive, sequence of events, and whether additional individuals were involved.

The original report and footage were documented by verified national news outlets.

A verified incident from Kushtia Medical College Hospital has raised serious questions about medical professionalism and patient safety, after a video showed Dr. Shamrin Sultana Trina playing mobile games while writing a patient’s prescription—with the patient standing beside her, waiting for attention.

The footage, aired on multiple news outlets, has triggered public outrage, with patients and families describing the behavior as “unacceptable negligence” in a government hospital where proper care is expected.

Hospital authorities have confirmed that the incident is being taken seriously.
Director Anarul Kabir stated that “playing games during duty hours is unacceptable,” adding that the doctor has already been officially asked for an explanation and further action will follow after review.

The video has reignited the national conversation on healthcare accountability, public service ethics, and patient rights in Bangladesh.
