Vehicle: 2020 Land Rover Discovery 5
Customer Complaint: Complete loss of audio output from the infotainment system.
Assessment & Diagnosis:
The vehicle was presented after the customer had sought repairs for this issue at several other facilities without resolution. We commenced a comprehensive diagnostic procedure.
An initial electronic fault code scan was performed. The scan revealed a "Lost Communication with AAM (Amplifier Audio Module)" code, with no other relevant faults present. Cross-referencing this finding with official wiring diagrams and module location guides, we isolated the fault to the AAM itself.
A physical inspection of the AAM was then conducted. Upon removal, the module exhibited clear signs of liquid intrusion and subsequent internal damage, resulting in a complete module failure. This condition was the confirmed root cause of the audio system's failure.
Conclusion:
The no-audio condition was definitively traced to a catastrophic failure of the Amplifier Audio Module due to liquid damage. The customer was advised of the findings and expressed satisfaction that the root cause had been accurately identified after previous unsuccessful repair attempts.

The Mercedes VGS (transmission control module) are notorious for various internal faults like communication failure (complete and intermittent), speed sensor, range sensor issues, and so on.
At Moks Auto, we have the ability to repair, supply, or program & code a replacement VGS just like you would at a dealer, but for a fraction of the price.

At Moks Auto, we don't believe in unnecessary parts replacement. Such cases are like the BMW footwell modules that brick when there are voltage fluctuations. Dealers simply replace the modules, which is costly, especially for a place like Malawi.
We offer a same-day repair service cutting down on time consumption and costs.
Moks Auto is your one-stop solution for all automotive electronics issues!

2012 Jaguar XF
Complaint: A JLR workshop owner contacted us regarding the dreaded "unable to find smart key" error when the battery is disconnected.
The usual culprit is the front BCM, which gets corrupt due to the voltage fluctuations, making the system not recognise the keys.
The dealer method is to supply a brand new BCM and programming.
Our solution: We do not replace modules when there is room to repair them, whether this is board level or by software manipulation.
We read the BCM data in boot mode and recovered it. After this, the front BCM was re-programmed on the vehicle at the client's workshop, and all functions were restored.
The client was delighted by our prompt service and also that he did not have to purchase a brand new BCM.

Diagnosis and Repair of Cooling System Malfunction
Customer Concern:
The client reported a cooling system malfunction warning illuminated on the dashboard, accompanied by the coolant fans operating at maximum capacity immediately upon engine start-up.
With the vehicle having fewer than 2,000 kilometres, the owner emphasized the need for a precise, first-time resolution and declined trial & error diagnostic procedures. The case was referred to our specialist team by a third-party workshop.
Service Request:
The customer requested an on-site diagnostic and repair service at their residence to minimize inconvenience.
Diagnostic Process:
1. Initial Assessment: Utilized OEM-level diagnostic tools to perform a comprehensive system scan, revealing multiple fault codes related to the cooling system (open circuits, fan control irregularities).
2. Visual Inspection: Identified evidence of rodent activity in the engine bay, with visible damage to wiring harnesses.
3. Electrical Testing: Confirmed multiple open circuits in the cooling system circuitry, traced to rodent-induced wire damage.
Repair Procedure:
Wire Restoration: Precision soldering techniques were employed to repair the compromised wiring, followed by the application of high-grade insulation materials to ensure durability and safety.
Post-Repair Validation: Cleared all fault codes, performed a full system reset, and conducted a dynamic road test to verify cooling system functionality.
Outcome:
The cooling system warning was resolved, with fan operation returning to normal parameters. The client expressed full satisfaction with the diagnosis, repair quality, and convenience of our mobile service.
This case highlights the importance of advanced diagnostics and meticulous attention to detail in addressing complex electrical faults, particularly in low-mileage vehicles requiring manufacturer-grade repair standards.
Our mobile diagnostic capabilities ensured a swift, non-invasive resolution tailored to the client’s needs.

Hino 500 J07E 🚚
Client complaint🗣: sudden loss of acceleration whilst in motion. We were immediately called to diagnose this truck on the highway as it was obstructing traffic.
Diagnosis 🩺: As we have the dealer tool to perform a diagnosis on Hino, we first plugged in our tool to assess the overall system before changing parts and testing.
💡The only fault code found (P0045) was relating to the variable nozzle turbo/VNT/VGT actuator module, this gave us direction where the fault may be, upon visual inspection no defects were found, after performing wiring integrity testing and actuation tests, it was found that the actuator itself was faulty.
The exhaust backpressure caused the VNT blades to stick in closed position due to DPF soot accumulation - as the actuator was trying to revert the blades in position, burnt out.
🧠Before replacing the module, we inspected what may have caused the current actuator to burn, and it was found that the DPF was clogged (as can be seen in the third image - high exhaust temperature) and surprisingly did not log any faults or warnings.
✅️Solution: The client was informed of the situation and opted to have the DPF and VNT system deleted.
After the ECU was remapped, the DPF system was physically gutted, and VNT set manually.
💨After this, the truck instantly started to accelerate and performed like before.

2013 Range Rover Evoque 2.2 TD4
Client complaint: The vehicle's performance is restricted and there is a DPF FULL warning message in the instrument cluster along with the check engine light.
Diagnosis: A scan was run on the vehicle, and it was found that multiple faults relating to the DPF system were logged.
Repair: After visually inspecting the system, it was found that the DPF was clogged and damaged, the client opted to have the DPF system eliminated.
We agreed and removed the ECU from the vehicle to map it on bench.
After the remap was done, the DPF was drilled, exhaust cleaned, intake cleaned, turbo cleaned, and intercooler as soot accumulated.
The vehicle was tested on the road and performance was back like before.
