I’m back in oz for a couple of weeks whilst “Kethi” kicks in. The Maldivians have Nakaiy nevi. It’s an indigenous weather calendar that predicts each storm and its behaviour and what to expect. We’ve always dry docked the boat at this time of year because like clock work somewhere between 5th till 25th May there’s about 2 weeks of horrendous weather. For years I’ve not booked clients at this time, everyone else does… I’ve found “kethi” to be the most predictable by dates and one of if not the worst for winds and rain (in over 20 years there’s been the odd exception but not many) I’ve got a couple of weeks to organise everyone for the year then I’m back at it for the rest of the season. I’m looking forward to chasing waves everywhere and anywhere I can. Photo was from one of the last days before it went to s**t. 😂

It’s been fun to surf this left again the last week. Once again there could be 25 people out or no one, current incoming or outgoing all within the space of an hour. If you know where to sit though it’s always fun. All there is to worry about is getting roasted by the sun.

Not a bad way to start the year. We ended up surfing a decent left that was the best waves we had. Conditions are always perfect in April that’s why it’s one of my favourite months. Thanks everyone for trusting us to get the best waves possible out of an average forecast. It was a mixed group but man did it work out well as there’s a few stories to tell. See you next year!

We’ve got perfect weather at the moment. Waves have been small but fun. We are making the most of it though and a bit more swell is on the way.

A couple of photos from the first few days of the trip. Surfs had its moments, boats full of fish, bars been copping a lashing and pokers robbing a few people of their money. Seems like things are on track.

One of those waves years ago I thought was too shallow then slowly started giving it a crack and started making a few. Super shallow and fast but maybe a bit more water on it in recent years?

Praying to the surf gods for a pumping 2026 season. Here we go!!!

It’s not all about the waves, can’t wait to get underway!! Surf, fish, couple beers, sleep and repeat!
