𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐄𝐃?
🔑 The GED was originally an acronym for the Tests of General Educational Development, but since 2011 we just use the term GED.

🔑The GED test is comprised of four subjects:
🔹Mathematical Reasoning
🔹Reasoning Through Language Arts
🔹Science
🔹Social Studies

🔑 Exams are taken on a computer in a GED test center. The exams have a variety of answer formats, such as multiple choice, short answer, and fill-in-the-blank.

🔑 You can take four separate tests that together make up the entire GED exam. Each test takes at least one hour, and you must get a certain score in order to pass. You can schedule one test at a time or all full at once.

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦?
𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚?

🔑 In order to take the GED, you can’t be enrolled in high school and must be at least 16 years old. If you meet these qualifications, you are eligible to take the test.

🔑 The GED is a high school equivalency diploma. Earning a GED diploma is the equivalent to U.S. high school diploma, so some students choose to take this certification exam if they were not able to complete a traditional high school program.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐆𝐄𝐃?

🔑 How long it takes to get your GED all depends on your skill level and education. But with enough preparation, you can go into the GED test with confidence that you’ll pass.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝?

🔑 Each GED subject test is scored on a scale of 100-200 points. To pass the GED, you must earn at least 145 on each of the four subject tests.

🔑 Scores are classified into four score categories:
🔹 Below Passing: 100-144
🔹GED Passing Score: 145- 164
🔹GED College Ready: 165-174
🔹GED College Ready + Credit: 175 -200

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭?

🔑 You can schedule your tests one at a time or take up to all four at once.

🔑 Once you are ready, you will schedule your test online and you will take the test at an official GED test center.

🔑 To schedule:
🔹Simply log into your GED account.
🔹Choose which test subjects you’ll be
taking.
🔹Select a day and a time at an official GED
test center.
🔹Pay for the test online using a credit card
or debit card.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮?

🔑 GED is recognized and accepted by nearly all colleges in the U.S., and many universities outside of the U.S.

🔑 Furthermore, the GED diploma is widely accepted by employers as an alternative to a high school diploma. Therefore, the GED provides a pathway to more employment opportunities and higher pay, compared to those who do not have a GED or a high school diploma.
