Dry ports can solve a whole range of transport and logistics problems. These are the main ones:

1) removal of customs clearance activities outside the rather busy territory of seaports;
2) release of seaports from the need to deal with long-term storage of goods;
3) release of city streets near seaports from a large number of trucks waiting in line to get to the port;
4) freeing the highways near the ports from traffic congestion;
5) consolidation and management of cargo flows, primarily container flows.
