MATLALI–LEBAKENG ROAD UPGRADE PROJECT
June 11,2026 - The Prime Minister Samuel Matekane today launched the Matlali–Mosenekeng to Lebakeng Road Upgrade Project at ’Melikane, Qacha's Nek.
The launch was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Justice Nthomeng Majara, Cabinet Ministers Hon. Thabo Mofosi, Hon. Pitso Lesaoana, Hon. Matjato Moteane, Hon. Nthati Moorosi and Hon. Voeswa Tsheka, as well as local leaders, government officials and community members.

Research Analyst Position in the Executive Director Office, Africa Group 1 Constituency
I wish to inform you of a vacancy for a Research Analyst position in the Office of the Executive Director for the Africa Group 1 Constituency at the World Bank Group, based in Washington, DC. The role was initially introduced as a temporary pilot position for multi-country constituency offices and was subsequently approved for institutionalization in recognition of its value in strengthening capacity.
In line with the mandate given by Governors to enhance diversity, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote knowledge transfer across the Constituency, this position is designed to provide a unique opportunity for qualified professionals from Africa Group 1 member countries who have not previously served at the World Bank Group or the International Monetary Fund. The selected candidate will support the coordinating role of Office of the Executive Director, undertake high-quality research and analytical work, contribute to the formulation of constituency positions, and help in enhancing stakeholder consultation and report quality through research and analysis, indicator and dashboard updates. The opportunity will enable the qualifying candidate to gain valuable experience and understanding of the operations of the World Bank Group and the global development policy environment and financial architecture.
