House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon joined senior officials of the Liberian Government, members of the diplomatic community, and invited guests at the United States Embassy in Monrovia in celebration of the 250th Independence Anniversary of the United States of America.

The commemorative event brought together government leaders, development partners, and distinguished personalities to celebrate the longstanding relationship and enduring partnership between Liberia and the United States.

Speaking on the significance of the occasion, Speaker Koon emphasized the deep historical ties shared between Liberia and the United States, noting that the relationship between the two nations continues to foster cooperation in democratic governance, economic development, peacebuilding, and institutional strengthening.

Speaker Koon described the United States as a longstanding partner to Liberia and praised the continued support provided through various initiatives aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and improving the lives of the Liberian people.

The Speaker further reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening its bilateral relations with the United States while extending best wishes to the American people on this historic milestone.

The celebration highlighted the values of democracy, freedom, and international partnership, while reflecting on the long-standing friendship that has existed between the two countries over the years.
